Coming 2 America (2021)
After 30 years Prince Akeem (Eddie Murphy) returns now as King of Zamunda facing threats of an over throw from General Izzi (Wesley Snipes) unless the king agrees to marry off his daughter to the generals son making Izzi’s son the eventual king of Zamunda. A twist comes when Akeem learns from his long time aide and best friend Semmi (Arsenio Hall) that during their first visit to the America Akeem was drugged by a female (Leslie Jones) Semmi had encouraged to have relations with the Prince. With the possibility of a bastard son and technically his first born before his three daughters that would be heir to the throne of Zamunda Akeem and Semmi return to America in search of the bastard. Although it was fun seeing Murphy and Hall together again playing multiple characters in this new film, the story does not have the heart or romance of the original. Fans of the original will likely enjoy the visit, but if you didn’t enjoy the original or haven’t seen the original this one is quickly forgettable.
